“Social media isn’t real life.” It’s a phrase we hear a lot. But is that really true? When Congress threatened to block China from controlling TikTok, the company riled up a mob of tweens to threaten Congress. If the Senate gives in, the outcome will be real enough. TikTok certainly is real life. If you doubt it, look at the rate of teenage girls who have themselves mutilated because of trans trends on the app, even younger girls who killed themselves over material in the app’s algorithm or the spread of verbal or motor ‘tics’ to teens over the platform. Social media isn’t real in the same way as the wind and the rain, or the laws of physics or economics, it’s an alternate reality spread through the internal realities of our minds. Before social media, there was just media, the concentration of mass media, radio, film and newspapers that wrecked much of the twentieth century and killed millions of people. It is no coincidence that some of the most destructive social and political movem

Could China Use TikTok to Elect Biden?
In 2020, 3% of Americans got their news from TikTok. It’s now 14% or 1 in 7 people. Among 18-29 year olds, 1 in 3 Americans get their news from TikTok. That’s up from less than 1 in 10 in 2020. Some of this is due to the app’s growth rate, but it’s also a strategy. It’s not just that TikTok is growing quickly, but today half of TikTok users say they get their news through it. That’s up from 1 in 5 in 2020. TikTok isn’t just growing, it’s growing its political influence. When the House passed a bill forcing an end to Chinese Communist control over TikTok, the platform rallied its users, many of them underage, to pressure and even threaten Congress. With 170 million active users in the United States, TikTok is one of the largest news platforms in the country and it’s under the control of Communist China. By 2021, most mainstream media organizations had jumped on to a platform that used to be known for short dance clips. The Office of the Director of National Intelligence revealed that
Jeff Bezos’ Employee was Kidnapped, His Paper Promotes Hamas
On Oct 7, Sasha Troufanov, an Amazon engineer, was abducted by Hamas and his father was murdered. The massive international tech giant has maintained its silence about him despite urgings from Sasha’s fellow employees and family members to speak out. Andy Jassy, Amazon’s first Jewish CEO, tweeted briefly on Oct 9 that “the attacks against civilians in Israel are shocking and painful to watch” and claimed that he had “been in touch with our teammates there to make sure we do everything we can to help support their family’s (sic) and their safety, and to assist however we can in this very difficult time.” He also promised to be “in close contact with our humanitarian relief partners on the ground and will be supporting their efforts. Hoping that peace arrives as soon as possible.” After that glib message, there have been no further updates. Amazon has refused to comment because it would be “too controversial” to speak out against the kidnapping of one of its employees. Not only Sasha, b

Big Tech's Disinformation Billionaire
From Russia smears to fake news to a lawsuit accusing former President Trump of rape, the money behind some of the dirtiest Dem tactics come from an obscure Big Tech billionaire. When E. Jean Carroll first accused Trump of rape , the media quickly backed away. It didn’t help that she told media outlets that “most people think of rape as being sexy” and “it’s the responsibility of the woman, too. It’s equal. Men can’t control themselves.” But after a fitful attempt at using the story to sell books, Carroll vanished and then returned with a lawsuit. In a deposition last year, Carroll claimed that no one else was paying her legal fees. That was not true. The money was allegedly coming from American Future Republic: an anti-Trump group funded by Reid Hoffman. A filing by Trump’s attorneys alleges that, “previously, Hoffman contributed more than $600,000 to the legal defense fund of Bean LLC6—otherwise known as Fusion GPS, the company responsible for the creation of the Steele Dossier.” The
How Big Tech and the FBI Hacked the Constitution
Elvis Ming Chan, the FBI Assistant Special Agent in Charge at the center of the TwitterFiles scandal, had started out as an engineer at NEC: a Japanese computer company. The son of Chinese immigrants who was raised in Seattle, near the hub of Big Tech, Chan describes a tech industry where going into national security was always a backdoor option. “One of my buddies who I worked with at the company I was at, his game plan was always to join The Bureau,” Chan revealed in an interview. “And he got in and he’s calling me from the FBI academy in Quantico, which you were able to visit with me. Maybe we’ll talk about that later. But he said, ‘Elvis,’ he’s calling me on the phone, he’s like, ‘you would love this. We’re shooting guns. We’re kicking down doors. I’m learning about the constitution. This is awesome.’” Chan was able to influence Twitter so well because he had come out of the tech industry. The FBI offered tech industry dorks the opportunity to shoot guns and kick down doors, to wi

A Monopoly on Speech
"Don't you think that users have a right to freedom of speech even if what they're saying is wrong or offensive?" Fox Business correspondent Hillary Vaughn asked. "I think that one human being should not be able to go into a dark room by himself and decide 'Oh, that person gets heard from, that person doesn’t.' That's not how it should work," Senator Elizabeth Warren retorted, referring to Elon Musk’s takeover of Twitter. The question is who should get to decide? On the heels of the Warren exchange, Senator Josh Hawley released damning evidence demonstrating that Biden's “Disinformation Governance Board” had been interfacing with leftist eBay billionaire Pierre Omidyar’s network. Warren objects to one billionaire member of the PayPal mafia, but not another making those decisions because they share a common set of political views that include censorship. While Musk put billions on the line to buy Twitter to protect free speech, Omidyar commi
