After being indicted by the United States for narcoterrorism and conspiring to import cocaine into the United States, the leader of Venezuela was touting a socialist ‘Cuban cure’ for the coronavirus. Interferon Alpha-2b, a Hepatitis drug, is a popular cure on Socialist Twitter where it's touted as a Cuban miracle drug that the United States is conspiring to block. Interferon isn't a Cuban drug. It came out of Switzerland. Its manufacturers include Israel’s Teva. There’s no actual need to get it from Cuba. Maduro, the druglord socialist leader of Venezuela, was better with cocaine than with actual medicine. But he retained his grip on power by using Cuba’s slave doctors to go door to door telling people that if they didn’t vote for him, they wouldn’t receive medical care. Patients were denied basic medical procedures under socialized medicine until they voted for the nacrosocialist regime’s candidates. That was MaduroCare. Then Maduro shared a cure for the coronavirus by

Socialism Can Kill You, But It Won't Bury You
Venezuela, a failing socialist state, has gifted its people with the sixth minimum wage hike in one year. The 150% increase last week won’t help too much because inflation is up to 1.7 million percent. Yes, you read that correctly. Minimum wage hikes don’t help when your currency isn’t worth the cost of the paper it’s printed on. That’s literally true in Venezuela, which has tried switching to an even more worthless cryptocurrency. Forget the #Fightfor15, in Venezuela it’s a fight to afford basic food supplies or even a cup of coffee. The cost of a cup of coffee rose 285614% in a year and doubled in seven days. Under the new currency, you can grab a cup of the good stuff for 400 bolivars. Too bad that the minimum wage is 4,800 bolivars and 90% of the population is impoverished. It isn’t looking to buy a cup of coffee, but is starving because it can’t actually buy food. Alternatives have included eating zoo animals, pets and wild donkeys. “Juntos: todo es possible”, the Obamae

What Happens When Socialists Run Out of Other People's Money
Prime Minister Thatcher once famously observed that socialists "always run out of other people's money." But what actually happens when socialism runs out of money? Venezuela, a once wealthy nation with black gold coming out of the ground, is a test case. The socialist regime ran out of other people’s money, and then out of money, years ago. The government met protests by its starving population with a 40% minimum wage hike. That’s the usual socialist solution to what leftists call ‘income inequality’. The problem is that 40% of nothing is still zero. The “Strong Bolivar” introduced by former dictator Hugo Chavez, who died of an overdose of Cuba’s socialist medicine, leads the world in one economic category: a 3,000% inflation rate. Currently a dollar will buy you 111,413.23 bolivars. Wait a while and there will be a better bargain in bolivars because economists are forecasting a 30,000% inflation rate. In Venezuela, even the poorest American can become a millionair

A Socialist Les Miserables in Venezuela
A mob of starving people advanced on the presidential palace chanting, “We want food”. They were met by soldiers and police dispatched by the tyrant from his lavish palace decorated opulently with a golden sun, giant rock crystal mirrors, sparkling chandeliers and towering oil portraits. The scene wasn’t 19th century France, but 21st century Venezuela. And if you are wondering why you haven’t seen it on the news, it’s because Venezuela is a Socialist disaster area that was once being used as a model by the left. Now it’s a place where the vast majority of people can’t afford basic food staples and a third are down to two or fewer meals a day. Obama laughed and joked with deceased monster Hugo Chavez, who handed him a copy of the anti-American tract, “Open Veins of Latin America” that had even been disavowed by its own author. Obama called the book a “nice gesture”, but Eduardo Galeano, its author, had told an audience that the left “commits grave errors” when in power. Ve
