Jews for Ron Paul Exposed as a Fraud! [The Jim C. Perry / Yaakov Perry Report]

Ron Paul, the Anti-Republican candidate for President and a favorite of White Supremacists like David Duke, has unveiled a new defense strategy to counter charges of Anti-semitism. The campaign of the candidate who claims to disdain ethnic collectivism now boasts an organization called "Jews for Ron Paul." If Jews for Ron Paul puts you in mind of Jews for Jesus, you're not far wrong. Because Jews for Ron Paul is a scam. Jim C. Perry (James Christian Perry, the C is short for Christian), the Executive Director of Jews for Ron Paul and heavily featured as the spokesman for the front group. Like many Jews for Jesus figures, Jim C. Perry claims to be an Orthodox Jew. The JTA article featured many of Perry's grandiose claims. For Perry, an Orthodox Jew, there is a connection between his own religious beliefs about personal responsibility and the Libertarian philosophy underpinning Paul's candidacy. "It's the idea that people are meant to be equal and free in

Well I'm Done Defending Brussels Journal

No one is perfect and I am certainly not. I think my former posts on the topic were fairly realistic about what to expect from some European conservatives. And then Brussels Journal put up one post promoting Ron Paul as the American Paul Belien and an article from Taki's magazine that cheers Jewish Holocaust denier Norman Finkelstein as an inconoclast, calls Mearsheimer and Walt "illustrious academics" and claims AIPAC was behind the invasion of Kuwait. I'm not sure what the point of this exercise was at a time when Brussels Journal was fighting accusations of racism. Taki is notorious as a bigot, a jailed drug addict and a millionaire whose money finances paleocons like Pat Buchanan who have a bug up their ass about Jews too. It may simply reflect a split going back to old fashioned bigotry. Charming sections of the article complete with money quotes can be seen below. The livre de scandale of John J Mearsheimer and Stephen M. Walt, The Israeli Lobby and US Foreign

For Veteran's Day - Remembering a Forgotten War

It is the soldiers who fight the wars on the battlefields and the politicians who squander their victories in conference rooms and at lavish banquets. The military and political history of the United States for over two centuries is a history of wars that had to be refought and victories that turned into truces and retreats when politicians had the chance to work their magic on them. The failure by politicians to finish the War in Iraq during the Gulf War led to it being refought now. The failure to settle the basic questions in Europe after WW1 led to WW2. The failure to make the Allied Intervention in Russia count and force back the Bolsheviks led to the Cold War. For Veteran's Day it is appropriate to remember that forgotten war, for the soldiers who died there and the cause that was lost and the lessons it holds for us. In 1918, two expeditions of US troops, the American Expeditionary Force Siberia and the Polar Bear Expedition entered Russia and left within a year or two-- lea

Understanding the Islamic War: The Basic Primer

Our biggest handicap in the war we're fighting is a failure to understand the nature of the war. We can best begin defining by defining what it is not. It is not the war in Iraq or in Afghanistan. Those are only individual battlefields. Defining the war in terms of Iraq or Afghanistan is as limited as describing WW2 in terms of Algiers or the Philippines. It is not the War on Terror. Terror is an emotion. Terrorism is a particular tactic. A group using it can be defeated. The tactic itself can only be defeated within the scope of a particular conflict. It is not a war with Al Queda, Al Queda represents only an ideological faction of the enemy whose attack on us served as a wake up call. But the war predates Al Queda and will postdate Al Queda as well. Here is what the war is. Our war is with Islamic Supremacism, similar to our struggle with Communism. This is a struggle not with nations, but with an ideology-- one originated by Karl Marx and reimagined by decades of Communist ideol

Norman Mailer - The Ghost in the Whiskey Bottle Passes On

In reality Norman Mailer died many decades ago but his body kept on running long after the mind that powered it had long ago sputtered and quit. Mailer was the remnant and legacy of a writing culture that encouraged writers to write with the whiskey bottle rather than the pen and viewed a whorehouse as a better setting for a writer's education than a salon or a course in English literature. As a writer with one successful book, Norman Mailer might have gone the Henry Roth route and settled down, raised a family and then reemerge only when he had something to say. Instead Norman Mailer became a one man circus embodying the worst of two decades and entertaining baby boomers before they had to actually grow up and take real jobs. Early on Norman Mailer stopped being a writer and became a performer, his performance was to portray Norman Mailer, like many celebrities Mailer became the object of his own fame. It's a long dark road that fame leads men and women along and boiled down p

Hollywood's Losing War on America

In many ways it's simplistic to tie Hollywood's antagonism to America and to patriotism as something that is purely the product of the current generation. While many people look back nostalgically at WW2 Hollywood films that were patriotic, it's rather easy to overlook the volume of films that were made before and after WW2 that were quite anti-war. In the late 30's British and American studios churned out movies that warned of the dangers of war. From H.G. Wells' "Things To Come" in 1936 which featured the start of WW2 and mass airplane bombing raids leading to Europe being thrown back to medieval times and a plague of zombies wandering the earth only to be redeemed by a global airplane based government to The Grand Illusion (1937) or All Quiet on the Western Front (1930) often used the devastating senseless of WW1 and the populist pacifism in the intellectual and artistic circles to warn against war. Certainly once WW2 commenced, the movies became straig

Parshas Toldos - Sibling Rivalry and the Love of Evil

Parshas Toldos begins with the story of Yitzchak but quite soon transfers to the story of Yaakov. Yitzchak emerged in the previous two Parshas as a miracle son and in Toldos he becomes quickly a father, his story submerged within that of Yaakov, the father of the tribes of Israel. There are any number of seemingly strange events in Parshas Toldos. Rivka at first is doubting that she was right to even want children when she experiences the turmoil inside her and goes to seek an answer from G-d. G-d tells her that there are actually two enemy nations fighting inside her. Not exactly the most reassuring of news. Then Esau appears willing to trade his birthright for some lentil soup and yet weeps and mourns when the blessings of the birthright fall of Yaakov. Yitzchak who is supposed to be righteous, for some reason loves Esav and insists on blessing him originally. To understand a lot of this we need to go back to the first case of sibling rivalry in the Torah, that of Kayin and Hevel. Li

Friday Afternoon Roundup -

My post on Venezuela and the Arab and Muslim presence in Latin America has been garnering a lot of attention with incoming links from Dissident Frogman and Asian Badger among others. You can't get more international than that. As some have pointed out it's just the tip of the iceberg. There are several degrees of interconnections between old line Marxist and new line Islamists and Muslim and Latin American terrorist groups and by the 2010's, that's a problem that is likely to be a major one on America's radar. Meanwhile in Israel people are appealing to Yisrael Beiteinu and Shas to leave the coalition. But appealing to their principles is as useful as appealing to a thief's morality. Yisrael Beiteinu is driven by Avigdor Lieberman's political ambitions and he is no hurry for new elections, especially with Gaydamak and his Putin backed party breathing down his neck. Avigdor Lieberman is now trapped between disclaiming his right wing credentials and en

The Arab Invasion of South America

When students protesting Hugo Chavez's plan to make himself into a dictator for life protested in Caracas chanting "Freedom", the riot police that smashed through their ranks were under the supervision of Deputy Justice Minister Tarik or Tareck El-Aissami. In his early thirties Tarik El-Assimi is one of the younger men to have held such a post. His father Carlos el-Aissami headed the Venezuelan branch of the Baath Party, while his great-uncle Shibli el-Aissami was a close Saddam ally and served as assistant to the Secretary General of the Baath Party. Before the invasion of Iraq, Carlos El-Aissami held a press conference in which he described himself as a Taliban and called Osama Bin Laden, "the great Mujahedeen, Sheik Osama bin Laden". The son, Tareck el-Aissimi who headed up Venezuela's visa department and now serves as deputy justice minister, began as student union leader supervising drug dealing and a car theft ring, while intimidating his rivals. He

Tony Blair: The Politics of Failure Have Failed, We Must Make Them Work Again

Why do birds suddenly appear Every time you are near? Just like me, they long to be Close to you Meet Tony Blair, former Prime Minister, current envoy smiling derangedly at Olmert and holding hands with him. Tony can solve all of our problems by cheerfully telling us it's all in our heads and we really need to have faith. Middle East envoy Tony Blair on Sunday urged Israel to make a "psychological shift" from indifference and skepticism about the prospects of progress with the Palestinians to an active determination to "make it happen on the right terms." What exactly is a psychological shift? Some sort of mental nightgown? A psychosomatic robe? Being skeptical about the prospects of a negotiated peace with Palestinian terrorists isn't a psychological block. It's simply common sense and a matter of learning from history. If anyone has a psychological problem, it's anyone who insists that we shouldn't be skeptical about the prospects of peace. He

How the Peace Process Endangers the Galilee and Alienates the Druze

For years the Druze in Pekiin have been harassing, assaulting, robbing and burning out Jews there. Druze bandits in masks routinely attacked, robbed and assaulted Jews around Pekiin. The policy of the police has been to turn a blind eye to what has been happening. It was only when the Druze attacked corporate property in the form of a cell phone antenna that the police finally intervened by attempting to arrest those responsible. The arrest however turned into a full fledged fight, the details of which are widely being underreported and understated. When the police arrived, they were met by armed masked Druze. In the process of the fighting, twenty-seven police were injured and an Israeli policewoman was captured and taken hostage and exchanged for one of the bandits that had been captured by the police. (Note this, the police actually negotiated with bandits and made an exchange.) As of now none of the bandits are under arrest. The situation in Pekiin is part of the larger problem i

Remember Yitzchak Rabin, Forget his Victims

The show is set as the ruling powers put on a show to remember the 12th anniversary of Rabin's death, in the way they did not bother to commemorate the anniversary of the liberation of Yerushalayim. I do not weep for Yitzchak Rabin nor can I even begin to understand the mindset that says I must mourn for an elderly politician more than for the little girl riding a bus on which a Fatah suicide bomber dispatched by Yasir Arafat (Rabin's partner in peace) detonated himself. I reject the moral universe of anyone who places the life of a corrupt senile politician transformed into a martyr by a corps of press agents over the lives of the men, women and children murdered as a consequence of Rabin's policies. Accompanying the "regime approved" memorialization of Rabin, are the usual bouts of hysteria over Yigal Amir. Currently a law has been passed denying Amir parole for life. He has been denied a furlough to attend his son's Brit or to have the Brit take pla

Parshas Chayei Sarah - Generosity, Hospitality and Rivka's Age

The first obvious question that arises in Parshas Chayei Sarah is why do we dedicate so much time to discussing Avraham's purchase of the Maarat HaMachpelah, the Cave of the Forefathers? The funeral of Sarah herself goes all but unmentioned and the funeral of Avraham is a footnote, yet apparently the details of the fairly ordinary bargain is somehow of crucial importance. Some commentaries tell us that this retelling provides proof of our legal right to the cave, but this seems rather redundant. After all doesn't Rashi already tell us that the reason the entire Torah began with the creation of the world was to tell us that G-d had created all the world and had the right to distribute lands to whom he wanted and therefore had the right to give Israel to the Jewish people. Why then do we need the sale of this particular piece of land, above and beyond G-d giving us the entire land? And what is the connection between this sale of the land for burying Sarah our Foremother and the m

Friday Afternoon Roundup -

Well it's been a week of controversial posts. I have no doubt lost some readers and links, but I don't have much time to keep track of such things anyway. Unlike the major blogs involved in the Vlaams Belang argument, I don't expect that my posts will have generated any of the kind of flurry of linking delinking that greeted the LGF, Brussels Journal, Gates of Vienna spat. I've expressed my opinion on those things and I'm moving on. Onward and upward. In the blog roundup, first of all we have the Elder of Ziyon himself, with two interesting looks at a pan of Walt and Mearsheimer from Tikkun Magazin e and from Joseph Massad , neither friends of Israel to say the least. In 2006, ‘pro–Israel’ PACs and individuals are estimated to have contributed more than $9 million to party coffers and congressional campaigns. While that is a significant amount, it ranks significantly below that of PACs and individuals supporting the interests of lawyers ($58 million), retirees ($36
