Nature abhors a vacuum and so it was always inevitable that Post-Zionism would mutate into Anti-Zionism. Labor Zionism had already embraced Post-Judaism, substituting socialism for religion and framing it in a national context in recognition of the reality that Jews would not be able to participate as equals in any other nation’s socialist system. In the Post-Zionism era, socialism gave way to capitalism, the old boys network still existed but it was now geared to business and investment. Israel's left did not actually embrace the free market as Netanyahu wanted, instead like Russia or China they embraced a limited oligarchic grip on the free market by those in power and those willing to bribe them. It is only fitting that today Shimon Peres, the first post-Zionist Prime Minister of Israel now serves as President. Peres' vision of a New Middle East was meant to toss away national identity along with religious identity in favor of technocratic capitalism. This was the Post-Z

Does Anyone Understand the Meaning of Treason Anymore?
With the latest news story on the Rosenberg case, news outlets and some bloggers have rushed in once again to try and exculpate the Rosenbergs as innocent victims of an overzealous justice system. This of course has been the usual defense for both Communist and Islamist terrorists and agents, their repackaging from perpetrators to victims part of the process of turning agents of pure evil into martyrs. The quest to redeem the Rosenbergs cannot and is not separable from the quest to minimize the evils of Communism. The revisionism of the Rosenberg defenders is no different than that of David Irving, Pat Buchanan or any historical revisionist trying to redeem the Nazis by finding chinks in history's armor. Anyone who objects to this analogy should go and dig in the frozen fields of the Gulags for the corpses of two generations of Jews brutally murdered by the Communists, or the remaining millions who were spared only by the chaos in the aftermath of Stalin's death. Those were

Taking the Fight to Obama
Right now Republicans are feeling confident, too confident. The confidence is good as a way to energize the campaign and GOTV but it leads to the danger of overconfidence. The real challenge is not Obama, a lightweight campaigner who speaks in cliches and has limited appeal, but the behind the scenes dirty tricks and a media even more ruthless than ever about destroying McCain and Palin. And so the double standard is in good and roaring form. According to the media and Obama's supporters, it's okay to belittle the work of a State Governor, but not a Community Organizer. It's also okay to parse McCain's ads for "hidden racism" but it's not okay to criticize Obama for referencing a Navy veteran as an old fish and a female candidate as a pig. The McCain campaign's attempt to call Obama on his "old fish" reference to McCain and "lipstick on a pig" reference to Palin that had Obama's listeners cheering ran into a hostile press

Friday Afternoon Roundup - War on Evil, Fragility of Memory, Inequity of Obama
First up is a video from a movie that is likely to be far more influential and controversial than An American Carol, The Stoning of Soraya M that may finally break through the reality of Islam to Westerners. (Important: Before you watch this clip keep in mind that it contains brutal violence and depicts a whipping of one woman and the stoning of another one.) I would argue that The Stoning of Soraya M is what the War on Terror needs far more than making jokes about Michael Moore. It's been a long sad and ugly week, from the fleeting commemoration of 9/11 combined with the media stepping up the attacks on the McCain campaign to the unsurprising revelation that Jerusalem is on the table and being negotiated. But what 9/11 reminds us is that the battle against evil is involved and must be fought on multiple shifting fronts at the same time. There is something as important as not letting the terrorists win and that is not letting their appeasers win. Because terrorists are

...From the Ashes
Last night as I walked home I saw two beams of pure light piercing the sky. Like a dream or vision, after a fiery sunset on the first chilly day of September they shone through the sky across the river and I thought of Ezekiel, I thought of Jeremiah and I thought of ashes. We have long dredged the bottom of the hole now, a great pit squarely lined with concrete, the ashes hauled away to a Staten Island dumps, it is all neat and sanitized as real graves never are. We have made the place memorial ready like mourners prepared to walk away from the gleaming oaken casket and leave the past behind us. But let us turn back to the ashes now and what remained after the last of the living and the dead had been recovered from the rubble. What is it that rose from these ashes? Resolve, patriotism and even a memory of national greatness stirring, of a sleeping giant awakening to bestride the tattered ground. But such emotions and drives endure only so long as there are leaders to channel them

Dhimmism, Inc
A major factor fueling national policies of appeasement abroad and at home is globalization. Policies, even self-destructive ones, do not emerge full grown out of thin air and to exist they must provide at least perceived benefits to powerful economic interests. Initially Western companies harnessed resources and then opened up markets by leveraging the colonial and military powers of their native countries. While that is not entirely a thing of the past, modern corporations have come to view military power and national defense as actually inimical to their interests. That is the irony behind the left wing's continuing reliance on terms such as Military-Industrial Complex, aside from a handful of overmerged defense contractors, the military stands alone. The industrial complex has long since discovered that it's more profitable to move the industries abroad and in some cases their headquarters too. As America and Europe become nothing more than markets and places to keep so

The US Consulate in Jerusalem's War against Israel
Anyone who wants to see an unambiguous demonstration of the State Department's bias toward Israel need look no further than the US Consulate General in Jerusalem's activities, as laid out on their website. Despite being located in Israel's capital, anyone visiting the website would remain all but ignorant that Israel even exists, because the US General Consulate's activities are wholly directed toward Palestinian Arabs. The US Consulate General funds camps, conducts cultural arts programs and other activities all of which are directed at Palestinian Arabs and take place in Palestinian Arab areas. To quote the Consulate website , "Since 1993, the American people have spent more than $1.7 billion in the West Bank and Gaza to combat poverty, create jobs, improve education, build roads and water systems, construct and equip medical clinics, and promote good governance." Long before any negotiations have occurred, the US Consulate General has already declared

Russian Gov Appointed Muslim and Russian Orthodox Clerics Call for Jihad against the West
The heads of Russian government appointed religious organizations, the State's official Russian Orthodox dioceses and the Central Muslim Spiritual Directorate are ramping up the campaign against the West. First Talgat Tadzhuddin, head of the Central Muslim Spiritual Directorate, a Communist era appointee loyal to Putin, called for a mutual Russian-Orthodox Muslim Jihad against the West. A prominent Muslim preacher in Russia, Talgat Tadzhuddin, calling themselves the Supreme mufti of Russia, on Friday called on Muslims and Orthodox "to come together in a single-orthodox Islamic jihad against the empire of Satan", which in his opinion, is the United States. Believes Tadzhuddin, anti-Western position of Russia, expressed in the recognition of the independence of Abkhazia and South Ossetia, leading to an early loss of American influence in the international arena than "Muslims should take advantage of all countries." "Now, in alliance with Moscow, we h

You Have No Idea How Much You Have Helped Me
Dear Supporters, In this election we set out to change the paradigms not only of what an election is but of what an election can be. Your grass roots have exemplified not only the best of this campaign but the best of America. Your work on my behalf has turned the web from the 'Internet' into the 'Obamanet', getting the word out to millions of ordinary Digg using Americans on my behalf. There are too many of you to thank individually but there are some whose contributions are just too notable to ignore. First of all to Jeff Pflegner, your Huffington Post articles backed by six years of experience as Personal Assistant to Gwyneth Paltrow continue to provide an informative source of knowledge and your coining the phrase "Jolf McHitler" to describe my opponent has provided a major boost for my campaign among Alex Jones listeners. To "Zobama4Life", your obsessive submission of mainstream media stories on John McCain to Digg that had already been submitt

Friday Afternoon Roundup - Olmert, Palin and Sharia in London town
First let's begin with my favorite speech of the convention, the red meat of it with Rudy Giuliani serving as the convention's good humored Zell Miller. What may really make Sarah Palin qualified to be John McCain's running mate is more than her time as Alaska's Governor or her ability to deliver well timed lines, but her ability to endure and even enjoy the torrent of hate aimed at her by the opposition. In her speech Palin demonstrated the same happy warrior quality that McCain, Giuliani and Ronald Reagan have and had, As this last week demonstrated it's a quality she will need because the left wing has taken over the Democratic party and backed by an unprecedented level of media partisanship, they are determined not to lose this election. Their week of hate however wound up backfiring badly, as the confused and hysterical welter of smear stories that the media ran only peaked the interests of Americans, helping Sarah Palin's speech beat the ratings for not o

A Liberal Monopoly on Hate
For the last week, even as they did their best to destroy Sarah Palin for being a working mother and her daughter for being pregnant at 17, Democrats laughably branded her "an anti-woman woman", as if Liberalism had some sort of monopoly on defining what a woman is. As if the Democratic party's pet feminists busy trying to demonize her for being a working mother, because the Obama campaign and Howard Dean told them to, are somehow "pro women women" for doing so. This after all is the party that still lionizes the Kennedys who have pretty much the same relationship to women as the Boston Strangler did. And if the Boston Strangler wasn't a Kennedy, that was only for lack of family connections, not for lack of trying. After all nothing says a "Pro-Woman" party like having a family with a bad habit of raping and murdering women as your political elite. But that of course gets ignored, along with the Klansman Democratic Senator or Joe Biden's ra

The Trojan Mosque
There are two kinds of cultures that can co-exist with a majority culture 1. Those cultures willing to integrate to a significant degree within the majority culture and as a result gain equal decision making powers, e.g. the classic immigrant melting pot. 2. Those cultures who choose to preserve their unique culture intact through isolation by refusing integration, e.g. the Amish. There is a third kind of culture, but one that cannot co-exist with a majority culture, a culture that refuses integration but demands control over the majority culture through violence and intimidation. This is the way of the conqueror culture. Integration and isolation are both compromises that balance cultural integrity with cultural influence. Both are reasonable and ethical compromises. They are the sort of compromises that have to be made for the larger system to function. We can posit an analogy to the business world. If Mr. X chooses to join a company, he must to some extent adapt to the com

The Media Goes Full Liberal : The Double Standard on John Edwards and Bristol Palin
The very same media organizations which for months refused to cover or even mention the story of a Democratic Presidential candidate's affair and illegitimate baby, threw all their efforts into covering the pregnancy of the daughter of a Republican Vice Presidential candidate. The website of ABC News, as well as many others, reported the pregnancy as "Breaking News". On Google News, both a hurricane which endangers the Gulf Coast and has set off a massive evacuation and the Republican National Convention, rank second to the major story that the daughter of a VP candidate apparently had premarital sex. This isn't a double standard. It's not even bias anymore, the media is functioning as an arm of the Obama campaign and the coverage is as slanted as anything in Pravda. News stories about the election are simply the Obama campaign's talking points. The same media which refused to cover the question of Al Gore's hypocrisy in maintaining an energy wasting
